Jacqueline Fernandez grew up in Bahrain, Manama. She is Sri Lankan and comes from an ethnically diverse background. Her father Elroy Fernandez is of Sri Lanka (Sinhalese - Catholic)and her mother Kim is a Malaysian. Her siblings include two brothers and an older sister. Due to unrest in the country, her parents relocated to Bahrain in the late 1980s. The schooling she completed was within Bahrain and she was awarded an Scholarship to attend at the University of Sydney. There she graduated with a Media and Communications degree. Passionate about the languages and culture inspired her to enroll in the Berlitz language school where she mastered French and Arabic in addition to learning Spanish. The crown was awarded to Miss Sri Lanka 2006 for Miss Universe 2006 on March 6th of 2006, and then participated in Miss Universe 2006. Following her win of the Miss Sri Lanka title in 2006, she stepped into the world of television and was the host of a show about Sri Lanka's business, named Lanka Business Report. Padukone has a daughter with badminton star Prakash Padukone. She was brought up in Bangalore and was born in Copenhagen. As a teenager she played in national championships of badminton at both the regional and international level. She later quit the game to become a fashion designer. Padukone is born in Mangalorean background Her mother language is Konkani. Padukone Village is located within Kundapura Taluk within the Udupi Distric of Karnataka located in India. Prakash Padukone is her father and was a badminton player with international recognition. Her mother works as an agent for travel.
